Kern Samuel: Guest Artist, July 24th

Our first Sable Guest Artist has arrived! Kern Samuel, visual artist and 2014 Sable alum, will present work in collaboration with current resident artists this Friday July 24th at Sable's Food & Art Series Gathering.  We are so incredibly happy to have him back at Sable for the week!

Kern Samuel is a visual artist who was born in Trinidad and Tobago. His mother was a seamstress and his father fixed machines at the Nestle factory. Kern credits those years at home with his mom as having a formative influence on his creative ideology. His mother’s attention to detail, quality and precision are echoed in his work and practice today.

At fourteen, his family migrated to The United States and settled in New Jersey. In 2009 he was awarded full tuition scholarship to The Cooper Union For The Advancement Of Science And Art. He was a member of the first generation of Sable artists in 2014. He lives and works in New York City.
