June 12th: Miniature Crankie Making with Storm Welch

5:30 - 6:30pm -  sign up at 5:15pm

Come learn how to make your own tiny crankie out of matchboxes! As a process that usually takes a long time, Storm has streamlined everything so that everyone, regardless of age, will leave with a finished, matchbox Crankie to call their own! Come for tips and tricks and start making your own Crankies out of what's around you.

Storm Welch (they/he) is a Crankie-maker and performer from the Monadnock Region of NH. Their work entangles life, printmaking, music, community organizing, murals, and finding ways to support and employ other working artists for a living wage. Previously a traveling artist, Storm currently makes their home in Brattleboro, VT where they are developing their skills at curating puppet slams, building shows, and slowly cultivating friendships within their neighborhood and ecosystem.

June 26: Which Side Are You On?: Protest Songs Through the Ages with The Pandora Consort

5:00 - 6:00pm  - sign up at 4:45pm

Join the Pandora Consort and guests to learn and sing songs from the North American canon of protest music! We will discuss the history of protest music in the United States, influential songwriters, and what makes these songs last the test of time. Participants will even learn songs from the Pandora Consorts' original folk opera, the Fire Within Her, to sing along to during the performance. No formal singing experience required.

The Pandora Consort is a Boston-based early music ensemble that reimagines classical music performance by integrating multimedia, interactive elements, and highlighting works by historically marginalized composers, especially early female composers. The ensemble has performed on the New York State Baroque and Pegasus Early Music Young Artist Series, Gotham Early Music Series, Otter Creek Music Festival, SoHIP Boston Summer Concert Series, the Saint James World & Early Music Series, King’s Chapel Concert Series, Salon Avec Moi (NYC), the BEMF Fringe Series, and in residence at the Portland Bach Experience and the Sable Project. Some highlights of the upcoming 2025-2026 season, include the Pandora Consort performing Hildegard Reanimated: Vision in Vision with Vermont Public Classical Radio, releasing an album of works of Hildegard von Bingen, and premiering their new program, The Fire Within Her, an original folk opera of early North American music about women’s liberation in the United States.
